Gantner, Carriveau Book Signing at HTL All-Star Game
Former Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Jim Gantner and author Brian Carriveau will team up for a book signing at the Home Talent League All-Star Game on Friday Aug. 3 at Warner Park in Madison. Gantner and Carriveau will be signing copies of It’s Just a Game: Big League Drama in Small Town America about Wisconsin’s Home Talent League released earlier this year. Home Talent League Alum Eyes Up the NFL
There’s plenty of notable players who cut their teeth in Wisconsin’s Home Talent League before reaching Major League baseball. Perhaps most famous is Cazenovia’s Ryne Duren, a three-time all-star with the New York Yankees who led the American League in saves in 1958 and won a World Series the same season.
